In anticipation of Harlequins visit to Newcastle Falcons on Sunday, VerenikiGoneva had said that he was glad to be back into the groove with the squad.
This was after his start as a Newcastle Falcon was interrupted by an injury.
Goneka was the match winner for the Falcons last Friday where his team triumphed over Northampton Saints in a 22-16 win, with the former RPA Player of the season leading the league wide chart.
The Premiership winner who has had featured in 69 Premiership outings with 32 tries so far, spoke about how frustrating it had been during the period of his injury.
“It has been a little bit of a frustrating start from a personal point of view, playing the first few games but then missing out through a hamstring injury, but it’s good to be back now and looking forward to Harlequins on Sunday,”
“I played about 10 minutes against Exeter two weeks ago, it was good to get back onto the field and then last Friday down at Northampton was a nice win to be part of.”
He went on to talk about the Northampton game and how he and the rest of the team were overjoyed by their win especially when considering the caliber of team they had played against.
He noted that their performance against Northampton last weekend was better than the one against Exeter the week before, as they were left frustrated.
Talking about the upcoming game against Harlequins on Sunday, he reiterated that it was going to be a big test and tough as well, as Harlequins would be coming with high expectations and with a squad of top players as well.
Goneka will be looking forward to the game and hopes his team mates can be able to showcase their own quality on the pitch.
