Having played at the Impala club in February, the Homeboyz team again appeared victorious when they played against Kenya Harlequin. The score of the match between the two teams was 48-5. The victorious team was crowned as the champions of Dala Sevens.
There were several interesting highlights of the game. From the beginning of the game the Deejays were able to take on an advantageous position in the game. Charles Omondi and Mike Wanjala made the first trials and they brought the 7-0 lead position for the team. The Kabaras were able to secure a third place in the tournament. They beat their opposition Strathmore Leos with a score of 24-21. Resolution Impala lost to KCB with a score of 39-5. The KCB team was able to secure the first position in the finals of the Plate. The Shield was won by Western Bull after they defeated Makueni with a score of 17-0.
The highlight of the Dala Sevens Champions was the winner for the Homeboyz. The game between Homeboyz and Kenya Harlequin took place on the Mamboleo show ground which took place last Sunday. The win was akin to sweet revenge for the Homeboyz. They were able to regain from the loss they had suffered from Driftwood Sevens that took place in the past two weeks. Raila Odinga, the Cord leader, arrived at the final game and his arrival caused considerable stir and delayed the final. The Deejays were able to hold onto an advantageous position from the beginning. Hence, it was not surprising that the game ended in their favor. Fans at the stadium echoed the success of the team.
